The Accountant-General's Department (AGD) is implementing a new medical
billing system to allow private medical practitioners to seek the
reimbursement of the medical bills incurred by Government officers at
their clinics. The system, MBS@Gov will allow the medical practitioners
to claim the Government's share of the medical bills and receive a
consolidated payment from the Government.
MBS@Gov will benefit the private medical
practitioners and over 200,000 civil servants, pensioners and their
dependants. The private medical practitioners will enjoy the
convenience of receiving the Government's share of the medical bills
paid directly to their bank accounts, whilst public officers,
pensioners and their dependants will only need to pay their share of
the medical bills at the time when they visit the clinics.
The
system, which will be web-based, will be piloted and later rolled out
in phases. In the pilot phase, we have invited about 100 private
medical practitioners to sign up. Participating private medical
practitioners in the pilot phase will help to shape and define the
processes and design of the system and will receive full technical
support. We are presently in our pilot phase, and
will be embarking on the full roll-out soon. Interested clinics can
continue to submit your application to participate in MBS@Gov. We will
follow up with you on more details. You can download the application
form from our website and mail the completed form to :
